Sharing your health info with a provider β€” safely

A step-by-step guide to sharing exactly what you choose with a doctor, for exactly as long as you want β€” and taking it back the moment you change your mind.

In this guide
  1. Why this is different (30-second version)

  5. FAQ

1 Β· Why this is different

Most health portals make you share everything or nothing. PatientPower flips that: you pick the exact categories to share, set when access ends, and can revoke instantly β€” and you can see every time a provider opens your record.

🎯 Only what you choose
Share labs with a cardiologist without exposing your mental-health notes.
⏳ Time-limited
Access expires automatically β€” 7, 30, 90 days, or until you revoke it.
↩ Revoke anytime
One tap ends a provider's access immediately.
πŸ‘ Fully logged
You can see how many times β€” and when β€” your record was viewed.

2 Β· How to share β€” step by step

1

Open the Practitioner Marketplace and tap ☁️ Sign in (top-right). Enter your email and click the magic link we send you β€” no password needed. When the chip shows ☁️ βœ“ Synced, you're ready. Signing in is what lets PatientPower create a secure, revocable link for your provider.

Signing in
Tap the Sign in chip in the top-right.
Magic-link sign-in
Enter your email and click the magic link β€” no password needed.
2

Open the provider you want to share with

Browse the directory, then tap a provider's card to open their profile.

Provider profile
Open a provider's profile to find the share button.
3

Choose exactly what to share

Tap πŸ” Share my health info. Tick only the categories you want this provider to see β€” Profile, Conditions, Medications, Labs, Vitals, Symptoms, Imaging, and more. Pick an expiry (7 / 30 / 90 days, or until you revoke), then confirm the authorization checkbox.

Share sheet
You're in control: share only the categories you select.
πŸ’‘ Nothing is shared until you tick at least one category and confirm the authorization β€” the default is to share nothing.
4

Grant access & send the secure link

Tap Grant access. You'll get a secure link for your provider. Use Copy or βœ‰ Email link to send it to them. The link opens a read-only view of only what you shared β€” and stops working when the share expires or you revoke it.

Secure link generated
A unique, secure link β€” safe to email to your provider.
5

What your provider sees

When your provider opens the link, they see a clean, read-only report of only the categories you shared. They can't edit it, bulk-download it, or pass it on β€” and their visit is recorded for you.

3 Β· See who viewed it & revoke access

Open the πŸ” Shared Health Info tab to manage every share you've created. Each one shows the categories, the expiry, a πŸ‘ view count (how many times your provider opened it, and when), a Copy link button, and a Revoke access button.

Your control center: track views and revoke any share instantly.
↩ Revoke is instant. The moment you revoke, the provider's link stops working β€” even if they had it open.

4 Β· How your privacy is protected

⚠️ Where this build stands: the share, scope, expiry, revoke, and view-logging flows are live. End-to-end encryption of records at rest and provider identity verification are on the roadmap. Treat shared data as you would any sensitive document, and only share with providers you trust.

5 Β· FAQ

Can the provider change my records?

No. The link is strictly read-only. Providers can view what you shared but cannot edit, add to, or delete anything.

What happens when a share expires?

The link stops working automatically at the expiry you set. Your provider would need a fresh link from you to view anything again.

If I revoke, does it really cut off access?

Yes β€” immediately. Revocation is enforced on the server, so reopening the link afterward shows an "access revoked" message.

Can I share different things with different providers?

Absolutely. Each share is independent β€” share labs with one provider and your full profile with another.

Do I need an account?

You need to be signed in (a quick magic-link email) so the share can be created securely and synced. Your provider does not need an account β€” they just open the link.
