PatientPower — SMS / Text Messaging Consent & Policy

How patients opt in to text messages, what we send, and how to opt out. beyondmychart.com

1. How patients opt in (consent)

PatientPower is a healthcare provider portal. A patient receives text messages only after they have given consent to their own healthcare provider. Consent is given verbally or in writing during a visit, and the provider records it via a required consent checkbox in the PatientPower provider portal before any message is sent. A patient who has not consented cannot be texted — the portal blocks it.

Patient consented to receive texts (required)
The provider must check this box in the Case Manager before the "Send text" button will work.

Patients may also receive an emailed invitation to join PatientPower; text messaging is separate and always requires the consent above.

2. What we send (message types)

All messages are transactional and link-only — they contain a secure sign-in link and no health details. The care plan is visible only after the patient signs in. We never send marketing or promotional texts.

5. Opt-out & help

Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe at any time. Reply HELP for help, or contact us below.

Every message includes a STOP opt-out. After replying STOP, no further texts are sent unless the patient opts in again.

6. Privacy

We do not include diagnoses, lab results, or care-plan details in text messages — health information is only available after secure sign-in. We do not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or consent with third parties for their marketing. See our privacy & data-sharing overview.
